Friday Faves: ES Chocolate

Friday Faves is the first in a series of bi-weekly blog posts about some of my favorite products, most of which I use during my everyday life. The following product endorsement is based 100% on my own personal opinions.

Salty Cravings & Sweet Treats –

Without a doubt, I’m a person who craves all things salty. Although I don’t have a sweet tooth, it doesn’t hold me back from having a few sweet treats stashed in our pantry. And that’s where my favorite dark chocolate brand—Endangered Species Chocolate—comes into the picture. After all, something has to offset all those chips in our pantry, because…well, it’s all about balance, right?

ES Chocolate 3 Views

I’ve been buying and eating these ES Dark Chocolate Bars for years, and in the city I previously lived in, I used to be able to walk five minutes and buy one of these dark chocolate bars (okay, usually three bars at a time) no problem. But since I’ve moved to southwest Kansas, it’s been a bit of a readjustment!

Since moving, my stash of chocolate bars soon disappeared, and were nowhere to be found in southwest Kansas. Naturally, I looked in all the nearby grocery stores and supercenters (i.e. 30 to 60 minute drives away). And in a desperate attempt to satisfy my cravings, I ended up making due with the dark chocolate bars I could find, but they just weren’t as good!

Chocolate Lifeline to the Midwest –

So, Amazon Prime came to the rescue—my chocolate selling lifeline to the rural Midwest! A few days after ordering, a box of twelve chocolate bars arrived at my doorstep. And my favorite dark chocolate bar—Endangered Species: Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt & Almonds—was back in our pantry.

ES Chocolate Box

This chocolate bar contains 72% cocoa, my favorite percentage. Any less and it’s too sweet, any more and it’s too bitter—yuck. And in case you didn’t notice, I don’t even have to avoid my love of all things salty, because they have sea salt! Alongside the delicious sea salt granules, the slivered almonds add a nice nutty flavor and crisp texture which is evenly mixed throughout the chocolate bar.

Although Sea Salt & Almonds is my go-to flavor, I also really enjoy these ES Dark Chocolate Bars:

  • Cranberries & Almonds
  • Raspberries
  • Blueberries
  • Cherries
  • Caramel & Sea Salt
  • Espresso Beans
Good in so Many Ways –

Not only are the ES Dark Chocolate Bars delicious, they’re also made from quality ingredients and sourced from ethical farming and trading practices. Plus, each chocolate bar’s packaging highlights an endangered species, which in turn receives 10% of the product’s sales through donations.

ES Chocolate Quality

As you’ve seen in the photos, the Sea Salt & Almonds flavor highlights owls. Specifically, the Eurasian Eagle-Owl which it talks about in-length on the inside of the chocolate wrapper. To learn more, you can check out the ES Chocolate website where you’ll find a list of all the products they offer including Chocolate Bites, Chocolate Bark, and more! You can also follow them on Instagram @eschocolate.

So, if you’re on the hunt for a new dark chocolate, you’ve got to try Endangered Species Dark Chocolate Bars! They’re so good in so many ways!
